A two-day content-rich course that brings real world experience to classroom sessions covering the critical aspects of choosing external collections or recovery vendors and managing the relationship and performance on an ongoing basis.

Topics covered will include:

  • Placement Considerations – This segment will address placement strategies, determining the “right” number of agencies to work each of your portfolios and how to maximize the effectiveness of your placement and recall strategy. Included will be a discussion of different strategies for creditors and debt buyers.

  • Agency Selection – This segment will cover the theory and fundamentals of identifying the right partners, including licensing and insurance, site visits, agency size and structure, and effect of existing clients.

  • Contracts and Work Standards – This segment will address the specifics that could be included in your contract and why, and the importance of specifically and clearly communicating your expectations. The discussion on Work Standards will include a review of Activation, Good Phone Number work expectations, Skip expectations, follow up efforts on Paying accounts, Settlements, and Legal accounts.

  • Compensation – This segment will cover Unit Yield calculations, strategies for setting commission rates, determining rates for Special Placements and Legal Placements, and Performance Bonuses.

  • Measuring Performance – What data sources will you use to measure performance? This segment will address review the various reports you may have available to measure performance. This will cover Batch Tracks, Diagonals, Weighted Recoveries, Net Back, and Recoveries as a percentage of active inventory.

  • Auditing - This segment will explore answers to Why you should audit, What you should audit, and How you should audit.

  • Regulation and Compliance - This segment will cover Federal and State regulation and compliance issues, use of Attorney Letters, State Licensing, and Insurance expectations.

  • Settlements - This segment will address the strategies used to manage your settlement policy, including blanket and non-blanket settlements, a controlled settlement process, and rejecting settlements.

  • Financial Issues - This segment will cover Trust Accounting, annual financial audits, and remittance methods, and accounting controls.

  • Internal Recovery – This segment will review the effect of Internal Recovery efforts on liquidation and collectability of Recovery portfolios. Additionally, we will review Dialer Strategy and Usage, and internal productivity measurements.
